Indumation 2022
For Indumation 2022, we were looking to do something interactive & creative. By building a checkers cobot, we created an application that demonstrates both our skills in robotics and vision.
During the course of the fair, abouta 100 groups tried to beat our cobot. Congratulations again to the 8 participants who managed to outsmart the AI! We look forward to seeing you again at the next edition.
Through our vision algorithm we are able to detect the checker pieces, this allows us to know when a checker piece has been moved and our program will verify whether this was a valid move.
The cobot itself will then determine its move via the minimax algorithm which always plans 3 moves ahead!

While building the setup, we asked ourselves the question about using a parallel – or three-point gripper.
Since the OnRobot Dual Quickchanger is so quickly implementable we just used both!
